All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Edo State, Kenneth Imansuangbon, is set to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), The Guardian gathered yesterday.

According to the source that pleaded anonymity, the failure of the APC-led government to provide the expected leadership for Nigerians since coming into office in 2015 is the reason for his defection.

The source added that arrangements had been concluded and that in a matter of weeks, the man popularly known as ‘Rice Man’ would be received back in Edo PDP with his teeming supporters.

Imansuangbon joined APC from PDP ahead of 2015 polls. He contested the governorship primary and lost to the incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki.

Efforts to speak with Imansuangbon on the issue before going to press proved abortive.
