Disturbed by the rising cholera cases in Nigeria, the Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Development Awareness (CESDA) has tasked the Federal Government on a quick solution.

Its Executive Director, Olusola Babalola, in a statement in Abuja, deplored the over 3,000 persons the disease has claimed, urging concerted move by the three tiers of government and relevant authorities to address the disturbing situation headlong.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had said over 69,925 suspected cases had been recorded in 25 states. Enlightening that the ailment was treatable if detected early, Babalola added that the water-borne disease has been identified as one that kills faster than others, amid negligence.

He urged governments to strengthen their management and laboratory diagnoses to provide materials for risk communication and response guidelines among others to affected states.
