Immigration revokes residence permits of staff of six companies

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede, has revoked the residence permit of expatriate staff of six companies.

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede, has revoked the residence permit of expatriate staff of six companies.

The companies are Intels Nigeria Limited, Prodeco International Limited, West Africa Machinery Services Limited, Net Global System International Limited, MGM Logistics Solutions Limited and Oriean Investment Limited.

NIS spokesman, Sunday James, explained that the move was in accordance with the law.

He said: “The Comptroller General of Immigration Service hereby revokes the residence permits of the expatriate staff of the companies in exercise of the powers vested on him in section 39, subsection 1 of the Immigration Act 2015 and section 5, sub-section 5 of the Immigration Regulation 2017, after withdrawal of the operational licenses of the companies by the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority.

“Consequently, the Comptroller General has directed that the expatriate staff of the affected companies leave Nigeria not later than November 30, 2017, failure of which they might be recommended to the honourable minister for deportation.”
