The Nigeria Immigration Service, (NIS), dismissed four of its personnel while sanctioning 32 others for various corruption-related offences as it intensifies efforts to rid the service of corrupt elements in furtherance of the federal government’s anti-corruption drive.

Comptroller General of the Service, Isah Jere, in a communique yesterday in Abuja, said the agency has dismissed four personnel, demoted fourteen and redeployed two others for various offences after an Orderly Room Trial Committee, (ORTC), of the service.

The communique signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Service, Tony Ekuneme, contains that eleven others were issued warning letters, one compulsorily retired and four others were discharged and acquitted of the pending allegations against them.

Jere who assured that “There are no sacred cows in the NIS as all offenders shall be properly sanctioned,” said eleven other accused personnel are awaiting trial.
