Imo recruits 4,000 teachers
Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha has directed the Executive Secretary of the Secondary Education Management Board (SEMB) to recruit 4,000 teachers into the system.
This is in response to the call by stakeholders in the education sector and after about eight years of part-time employment in the system.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Enlightenment, Eze Ugochukwu, stated on Wednesday night, that the directive was contained in a statement signed by the Principal Secretary to the Governor.
The administration of former Governor Rochas Okorocha had engaged teachers on a casual basis and allegedly paid them sparingly.
