IMSU alumni campaign against suicide, drug abuse among students
The Imo State University (IMSU) Alumni Association has urged the governments and concerned stakeholders to intensify concrete efforts to tackle the increasing incidence of suicide, drug abuse and related vices among university students in the country.
President of the alumni, Mr. Ferdinald Akano and the immediate past president, Mr. Chris Anyanwu, while speaking with The Guardian at the weekend during a sensitisation campaign cum rally against the menace across the major roads in Owerri as part of the events marking the association’s third yearly global convention, stressed that efforts must be made to give the right information and orientation to students and youths about life and morality.
It also urged the institutions to strengthen their code of conduct and take stringent actions against students that indulge in vices.
