The Chairman, Police Service Commission (PSC), Dr. Solomon Arase, has called on Nigerians to rekindle their hope in the country, assuring that all hope is not lost as Nigeria celebrates its 63rd Independence Day.
The chairman noted that the labour of the country’s heroes past should not be allowed to be in vain, stressing that economic downturn was part of any democracy.
In a statement by the Head, Press and Publicity of PSC, Ikechukwu Ani, Arase urged Nigerians to set aside all pains and salute heroes who laboured to keep the country together as one.
He also said that Nigerians should spare a minute to salute and celebrate the country’s freedom fought for by heroes.
He noted that Nigeria must rise again and the labour of heroes’ past should never be in vain. “It is obvious that no nation is perfect; we have had our fair share of hate and violence, but this is the moment to build our new future full of love and understanding.”
