The Africa Economic Development Policy Initiative (AEDPI) and OCPPC Policy Centre have launched the inaugural “Morocco-Nigeria Strategic Dialogues: Enhancing Opportunities for Growth and Development.”

The initiative, a dialogue for economic development of African nations, partnerships in the energy sector as well as mobilisation of financial resources and empowerment of youths in the two countries, is an offshoot of the 24th Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja.

Both nations had earlier in the year signed three agreements, including a regional gas pipeline, to supply the product to countries in West Africa and others bordering Europe.

“The pipeline has a huge role to play beyond fertiliser and gas. Remember it would pass several countries and there are already discussions around clean energy adoption providing electricity to the countries that the project would pass through,” the Managing Director of OCP Policy Centre, Karim El Aynaoui, noted.
