Senate committee chairman on defence, Senator Magatakada Wamako has challenged Nigerians to rise up to collectively give helping hands to security agencies to overcome insurgency as well as other security challenges bedeviling the country.

Wamako spoke recently when he received an award as the 2019 legislator of the year North West for good governance presented to him by Aljezera Newspaper.

Speaking against the backdrop of the proposed procurement of assault support equipment, which is expected by 2021 he said the military is doing its best to overcome insurgency adding that the committee is looking at all the challenges and how to support them. He said the last time the committee met with the president on security matter he was very worried but assured that Government will procure the required equipment, and give the required motivation.

On the recent $30b loan request by President Buhari, which has been a subject of controversy, he said nobody has any problem with Nigeria taking loans but what would be done with said loans.
