Iree indigenes laud Adeleke’s intervention on Aree stool

Gov’s emergence a symbol of new hope for Osun, PDP, says Awesu

Indigenes of Iree town in Boripe Local Council of Osun State, yesterday, commended the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, for correcting alleged illegality committed by the immediate past administration as regards Aree stool.

Adeleke had on Monday in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, ordered Owa of Igbajo, Oba Gboyega Famodun; Akinrun of Ikirun, Oba Yinusa Akadiri and Aree of Iree, Oba Ponde Ademola, to vacate their palaces while security agents should take over.

REACTING to the order, yesterday, Olubonku Ruling House in Iree, in a statement signed by Ali Afolabi, one of the contenders to the stool, said Adeleke had saved the ancient town from needless chaos and crisis that might have been occasioned by the unlawful selection and installation of Ademola as Aree of Iree. Afolabi said the nullification of the chieftaincy appointments and constitution of panel to review same had enthroned peace and justice in the land.

MEANWHILE, a contender for the Ikorodu House of Representatives seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), AbdulAzeez Adekunle Awesu, has said that the emergence of Adeleke as the new governor is a symbol of new hope and a right course, which the PDP is chatting ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Awesu, who stated this, yesterday, in a congratulatory message to the governor, described the development as a “promise for better tomorrow for the PDP and that the party will eventually lead the country to the Promised Land.”

In a statement signed by his Personal Assistant, Kenny Jackson, Awesu described Adeleke as a man with many lives, adding that his emergence is a good sign for the PDP in the forthcoming election.

The statement stated: “On behalf of myself, family and political group, I congratulate our own Senator Ademola Adeleke as the new governor of Osun State. It is indeed a new dawn in that state and for the entire Osun people.

“The newest addition to the list of governors on the platform of our great party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke, is a typical example of a man with many lives, determination, courage and perseverance in the face of challenges and hope when all odds seem to have been against one.

“You may be denied by the system, but if you stay on the path of truth and with your courage, determination and more importantly, with people and God on your side, victory will always be yours.”

I wish you a memorable and successful administration and pray that God will endow you with ability, capacity and capability to positively impact and turnaround the fortune of the state and make your administration a reference point in many decades to come.”
