
Reps member distributes 800 bags of rice to constituents
Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has disbursed N35 million in grants to no fewer than 1,000 low-income women in the state as part of initiatives to commemorate the 2025 International Women’s Day.
Aiyedatiwa emphasised that the initiative, tagged, ‘Odatiwa Women Initiative’s Grant’, was in recognition of the women’s thrive and struggle, stating that it was also a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to women’s development, particularly the less privileged.
The governor stated this, at the weekend, during the commemoration of the 2025 International Women’s Day with the theme, ‘For All Women and Girls: Rights, Equality and Empowerment,” held at the International Event Centre (The Dome), Akure, the state capital.
While presenting the cash grant to various women categories and groups across the 18 local council areas of the state, the governor assured that his administration will focus on the all-round development of women, particularly the less privileged, with a view to giving them the needed support to thrive in their various endeavours.
ALSO, the House of Representatives member representing Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency of Ondo State, Donald Ojogo, has assured his constituents in Igbokoda, headquarters of Ilaje Local Council Area of Ondo State, of another major infrastructural project.
While disclosing that the proposed project is part of efforts to ensure that his constituents enjoy the dividend of democracy, Ojogo, who noted that he has been facilitating various infrastructural projects in his constituency, emphasised that he would not relent to make his constituency a better place.
The lawmaker and former commissioner for information in the state, who stated this at the weekend, stressed that as a representative of the people, he must ensure the needs of his constituents are met and their voices are heard.
According to Ojogo, shortly after distributing 800 bags of rice across the 22 wards of the constituency, said that the welfare of his constituents is non-negotiable.
