Former Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, will deliver the Goddy Jidenma Foundation lecture on November 30, 2021.

The event will hold physically (and virtually via Zoom) at Agip Hall, MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos, in accordance with COVID-19 protocols.

Jega will speak on the topic: ‘Governance, Insecurity, Poverty and Socio-Economic Development: Which Way Forward?”

The Foundation was established in 2007 in memory of the late Goddy Jidenma who died in 2006.

“Attendance at the lecture is free. This year’s lecture is solutions-driven. Our country must find its rightful place in the world. The African renaissance is key in the restoration of the humanity of the black race,” said Executive Secretary of the Foundation, Dr. Ije Jidenma.

“This year’s event will take place under the distinguished chairmanship of Chief Mrs. Nike Akande, a former Minister of Industries. It is expected that Prof. Jega will bring his excellent and rich academic background as well as his practical experience,” she added.

At a press conference to herald the event in Lagos, a professor of political economy, Pat Utomi, noted that the foundation has been at the forefront of enhancing thoughtful leadership in Africa and especially Nigeria.
