Spokesperson for the Command, Alfred Alabo, said in a statement, yesterday, that the guard was found dead in a section of Jos Main Market in the early hours of Saturday.
According to him, the suspects have been arrested and are in for questioning, while the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the area has started work on the case.
Chairman of the market, Alhaji Jamilu Kabiru, told newsmen that the deceased had been guarding the market for 15 years.
Sources close to the market said another security guard, Suleiman Wizi, 25, who worked at New Market in Jos North Local Council, was also killed on Monday night by suspected armed robbers.
The robbers allegedly killed Suleiman as he patrolled the market, and broke into three shops, stealing some valuables, including an undisclosed sum of money.
