Members of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), including magistrates and senior court officials, on Wednesday took to the streets of Ikeja in a coordinated walking exercise as part of activities marking the annual Honourable Chief Judge, Justice Kazeem Alogba Games (HCJ’s)
The fitness walk, which commenced from the premises of the Lagos State High Court Ikeja, saw participants move through Government Reserved Area (GRA), proceed towards the PWD Ikeja axis, and return to the High Court complex.
The exercise formed part of the broader lineup of events celebrating the annual HCJ’s Games, organised by judiciary staff to promote physical well-being, unity, and camaraderie among court workers.
A banner displayed at the venue indicated that the event also coincided with the birthday celebration of Hon. Justice Kazeem Olanrewaju Alogba, drawing participation from various cadres within the judiciary.
Participants, dressed in sportswear, moved in groups under light security supervision, with some residents and passersby observing the procession.
The walk caused minimal disruption to traffic along the route.
Officials said the initiative underscores the importance of maintaining a healthy workforce within the judiciary, noting that such activities also provide an informal platform for interaction among magistrates, registrars, and administrative staff outside the courtroom setting.
The annual HCJ’s Games is expected to continue with indoor and outdoor sporting events at designated centres within Ikeja.
However, Justice Alogba will kick start the novelty mach in evening.
