Julius Berger’s MD wins award


Engr. Wolfgang Goetsch, Managing Director of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc has won the highly rated award for professional excellence by the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB). The event, which held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, last Friday, was part of the investiture ceremony of the 20th President of the NIOB, an institute founded in 1967.

The President, Bldr. Kenneth Nnabuife Nduka,Fniob, stated that Goetsch was on his professional merit chosen for the honour due to his relentless and strong commitment to championing qualitative, solid and efficient project and service delivery in the construction and built environment in Nigeria.

Goetsch is an Austrian national and holds the equivalent of a Master of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering from the Technical University, Innsbruck, Austria. An erudite scholar with a quality-driven professional engineering practice, Goetsch is also widely acknowledged in the construction sector as a solution-oriented management expert.

Goetsch started work in Julius Berger Nigeria Plc in 1991, and became a Director of the Board of the Company. He was later appointed the Managing Director with effect from October 15, 2007, and he held the position till June 30, 2014. He remained on the Board as a Non-Executive Director of the Company since July 1, 2014, and was re-appointed Managing Director of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc with effect from July 23, 2016 till date.
