Former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, has announced that the service of songs for his late former wife, Mrs Ifeoma Ada Kalu, will be held on Thursday, April 13.

Kalu last week Monday, April 3 announced the death of his wife, Ifeoma in a statement.

The Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District held an open casket viewing ceremony for his late wife at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, North Carolina, in the United States of America (USA).

He was seen with his children and family members wearing black attires to mourn the demise of his wife at the age of 61.

Kalu who is one of the aspirants for the Senate Presidency shared pictures from the open casket viewing via his Twitter handle on Wednesday.

“Ahead of tomorrow’s service of songs for my late ex-wife Mrs Ifeoma Ada Kalu, we had an open casket viewing at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, North Carolina, USA,” Kalu said.

“We will miss our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, Sister, and Aunt. She will be sorely missed by all.”

Kalu married Ifeoma Ada Menakaya in December 1989 in his hometown of Igbere, Abia State.

He has four children namely Neya Uzor Kalu, Michael Uzor Kalu, Olivia Uzor Kalu and Nicole Uzor Kalu.

Kalu currently serves as the Chief Whip of the Senate. He was Abia State governor from 1999 to 2007.
