The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano has accused the main opposition party New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) of circulating fake election results.

A statement by the spokesperson of APC gubernatorial candidate Muhammad Garba on Saturday said the fake results being circulated by the opposition party were intended to mislead unsuspecting members of the public.

Although Garba hinted that APC was in the early lead in the gubernatorial and house of assembly elections, he said the NNPP, apparently is resorting to sharing fake results to incite the public to believe that the election is being rigged.

He however urged APC supporters and the general public to patiently await the outcome of the election from official channels and not allow themselves to be used to cause trouble.

Meanwhile, the APC has directed all its party’s agents, supervisors, supporters, and other stakeholders to go to their respective collation centres to guard their votes.

Garba said the call become necessary to enable party stakeholders to guard against possible falsification or altering of results by the opposition.
