Kano pilgrims’ board denies collecting money for Hadaya
Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has reacted to alleged diversion of pilgrims’ remittance of money for Hadaya (animal sacrifice) during hajj.
Addressing a press conference in Medina yesterday, executive secretary of the board, Alhaji Mohammad Danbatta, exonerated the board from the accusation.
He insisted that the board had neither demanded nor collected any money from its pilgrims in respect of Hadaya.
Affirming that Jaiz Bank was the only institution certified by National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and Saudi authorities to collect the Hadaya, he declared the board could not serve as agent of Jaiz and should not be held responsible for any remittance.
