Kano power firm debunks suspension by TCN
Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has faulted its alleged suspension by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) over energy supply.
In a statement, the Head of Corporate Communications, Ibrahim Shawai, stated that the action “cannot and should not stand.”
He described the ‘purported suspension’ as “self-help and intimidation,” insisting that the firm was allegedly denied fair hearing
TCN in its official twitter handle, @TCN_Nigeria, had on Sunday, announced the suspension of KEDCO for alleged default in observance of Electricity Operator Administered Market Conditions and Market Participation Agreement.
According to it, the market operator had issued the distribution company a notice of default with reference No NED/2019/004 and dated July 9, 2019.
Another notice of intent tagged No. NIISO/2019/005 and dated July15, 2019, was also reportedly issued by TCN informing KEDCO of the suspension and restriction of some its rights in the market place.
