IPOB Supports Alleged Call For Armed Self-defence
The Katsina State Government has described the call for the resignation of Governor Aminu Bello Masari by the state chapter of the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), to acquire arms for self-defence, as absurd.

Recall that some days ago, the Governor admonished his people to wake up and resist the bandits by acquiring arms for self-defence.

A statement, yesterday, signed by Director-General of Media to the Governor, Abdu Labaran Malumfashi, who said the call is quite ridiculous for reasons not hard to fathom, said security is on the Exclusive list of the Nigerian Constitution, which means it’s exclusively a Federal Government affair.

He said: “In matters of security, a governor is the Chief Security Officer of his state only in name, because the various security chiefs working in the state take orders not from him, but from their superiors in Abuja.

“The only things they take from governors are the financial and material assistance (both solicited and unsolicited), which they extend to the security institutions in the states. Governor Masari is second to none, when it comes to proactive engagement with security agencies in the state.”

He said the massive increase in the number of security formations in the state, and the North West in general, was due to the dogged commitment and determination of Governor Masari to see to the successful prosecution of the war against banditry.

“It was this, which persuaded his North West colleagues to make him the chairman of their security committee. As constitutionally elected office holders, Governors do not succumb to the intimidation of some self-serving disgruntled elements, masquerading as human rights campaigners by resigning.

“If they are found wanting in the discharge of their responsibilities, the Nigerian Constitution has provided the protocols for easing them out of office, and no House of Assembly is in the dark about that.”

While noting that Masari is not the first Governor to make the suggestion, he said in states where the citizens do not politicise security issues; they rally round their leaders who had similarly admonished their people.

In a related development, spokesman of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Comrade Emma Powerful, yesterday, stated that the call credited to Katsina State governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, urging residents of his state to acquire arms for self-defence against the rampaging Fulani bandits in the state has vindicated IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, whom Powerful said has consistently been advising Nigerians and particularly Biafrans, to defend themselves against the Jihadist Fulani terrorists.

In a press release, Powerful described Mazi Kanu as the man who saw tomorrow, saying, “Everything he said has fully happened.”

Powerful stated that the governor’s call should be a clarion call to Southeast Governors, who do not understand the tactics and gimmicks the Fulani are using in their desperation to conquer and Islamise indigenous people in Nigeria.

He urged politically correct Southeast governors and political elite to stop living in the past and  wake up from their slumber and decode the obvious signals of Masari’s call.

He said: “Let Nigerians prepare, because the much-talked about Fulani agenda is about to be fully executed. Our Leader, Nnamdi Kanu, warned Nigerians, but they called him a terrorist, instead of appreciating him. The Fulani are bent on making Nigeria another Afghanistan. You may doubt it, but watch out for it. The signs are obvious.

“Our Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, saw this and knew that a time like this would come. He formed a very formidable security outfit by December 2020, and the gallant Eastern Security Network ESN operatives will always live up to their mandate.”

Powerful, however, assured that they will not succeed in Biafra land; hence they are prepared to repel Fulani in their quest to take over their ancestral land, adding, “although IPOB is peaceful, they should not dare us or take our peaceful disposition for weakness…”
