Katsina to spend N23b on roads, electricity

The Katsina State government has said that it will spend N23 billion on roads construction and electricity projects in some selected local councils in the state.

The Katsina State government has said that it will spend N23 billion on roads construction and electricity projects in some selected local councils in the state.

The state’s Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport, Mr. Tasi’u Musa Dandagoro, stated this at the end of a rescheduled executive council meeting of the state.

Dandagoro said the projects include 26-kilometre Kankara-Zango-Dansabau road, as well as the Mararrabar Musawa- Gingin-Kurkujan-border with Kano State.

Other road projects, he said, include rehabilitation and upgrading of the Mashi to Birnin Kuka road, construction of Rimaye-Sukuntuni-Magam-Karaduwa road and the Dayi-Tuge-Gundawa-Wawar Kaza road, Yandaki-Gafiya-Abdallawa-Dankaba road and the Sabke-Randa-Danaunai-Dutsi road.

The commissioner said the expenditure would also cover the electrification of one selected community from each of the 34 local councils in the state.
