Kebbi awarded N898 million water contract to Chinese company
Kebbi State Governor, Sen. Atiku Bagudu Abubakar, has awarded a water contract worth N898m to a Chinese company for the expansion and rehabilitation of Dukku Dam.
The chairman, Due Process, Mohammed Sirajo Garba, told journalists, yesterday, that the aim of the project is to ensure constant water supply in the state.
He explained that the dam, constructed since 1979 was due for expansion and rehabilitation. He stated that about 800 water pipes would be used for the reconstruction, while over 300 pipes have been procured with capacity of one million gallons.
He said the life span of the contract is one and a half years, and when completed, would reduce shortage of water supply.
