Kefas secures APC ticket, promises prosperity, unity in Taraba

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba state has reaffirmed his commitment to fairness, humility and inclusive leadership following his victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in the state.

 

Kefas gave the assurance on Friday while delivering his acceptance speech shortly after he was declared winner of the APC governorship primary election.

 

Members of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee visited the Government House in Jalingo to formally present the election results to the governor.

 

Speaking after receiving the results, Governor Kefas described the victory as a collective achievement for all members of the party across Taraba state.

 

He expressed appreciation to the leadership of the APC at all levels for their support and confidence in his administration, while also thanking the people of the state for their continued trust and cooperation.

 

The governor also commended his fellow aspirants for participating in the democratic process, noting that democracy provides an opportunity for all voices to be heard.

 

According to him, the period of political contest is over and the time has come for unity and collective efforts toward the continued development of Taraba State.

 

Governor Kefas emphasized that his administration remains focused on strengthening the APC and building a more prosperous state for all residents.

 

Earlier, the chairperson of the election committee said the conduct of the primary election reflected the will of party members, adding that the exercise was guided by integrity and due process.

 

Results announced by the Returning Officer showed that Governor Agbu Kefas secured 166,357 votes to emerge winner of the primary election, while his challenger, Muazu Jaji, polled 4,110 votes.
