Paramount ruler of Mhiship Nation in Pankshin Local Council of Plateau State, HRH Sunday Dajep, who was kidnapped on Wednesday night of April 5, 2023, has been released unhurt after paying an undisclosed amount as ransom.

Paramount ruler of Mhiship Nation in Pankshin Local Council of Plateau State, HRH Sunday Dajep, who was kidnapped on Wednesday night of April 5, 2023, has been released unhurt after paying an undisclosed amount as ransom.

The monarch was reportedly released to his family on Saturday by his abductors.

According to a family source, the paramount ruler was warned not to disclose the amount paid before his release.

The source added that the kidnappers were not under any threat to do so, as they just freed him on their own volition.

Plateau State Police Command Spokesman, DSP Alfred Alabo, confirmed the release, adding that it was made possible by the efforts of the police and other security personnel, including Operation Safe Haven (OPSH).

He praised the Police Area Commander, who he said did a lot of things to effect the release.

On what the security personnel did before the traditional ruler’s rescue, Alabo said they “do not always disclose it,” so the criminals will not try to circumvent subsequent efforts.

The abductors had reportedly demanded N18 million to free the victim.
