Kings College PTA flays management over ban of day school, high levy
Parents of students at Kings College, Lagos, have decried the school management’s mandatory decision to transfer all day students to hostels, saying that it was against their decision when enrolling their wards.
They also urged the school to reduce the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) development levy in the school to the amount being paid in other unity colleges across the country.
The parents, who spoke at a peaceful rally to protest against ban of day students in the school, urged the Senate President Ahmad Lawan; House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila and others to quickly intervene on the issues and return to status quo.
One of the parents, Dosumu Henry Thomas, who urged the Federal Government to stop the cancellation of day students in the college, said: “We want the government to intervene in ensuring that the principal reverses his order. With the immoralities being perpetrated by boarders, no parents will allow their kids to live in the school environment
“You will not believe that some parents withdrew their kids from boarding because of gangsterism, bullying and cultism going on in the school.”
