Kwara Assembly confirms new CJ, chair, members of fiscal body
Kwara House of Assembly has confirmed Justice Abiodun Adebara as substantive Chief Judge of the state. The confirmation was sealed at plenary of the 24 members, chaired by Speaker Yakubu Salihu.
Fielding questions from lawmakers, Justice Adebara pledged speedy dispensation of justice in the state. He also assured the citizens of a healthy and harmonious working relationship with the other two arms of government to move Kwara forward.
The jurist solicited more budgetary provisions for the judiciary to address inadequate courtrooms and other challenges facing the third arm of government.
The lawmakers also confirmed appointments of Abubakar Abdullahi Uthman, Oyedun Funke Juliana, Yusuf Abdulganiyu Aremu, and Abdul Gana Lukpada as chairman and members of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission.
The Speaker, therefore, directed Clerk of the House, Hajia Halimah Kperogi, to communicate the confirmations to the governor.
