Operatives of the Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested 21-year-old Temple Samuel for stealing his boss’ Lexus ES 330 car to fund his relocation abroad. The suspect was arrested in the Ogba area of the state with 32-year-old Benjamin Bassey; 37-year-old Joshua Agboche and 29-year-old Chukwuemeka Okorie, who allegedly conspired with him to sell the car.

The suspect, who works in his boss’ car wash at Egbeda, stole the car alongside the boss’ iPhone X and iPhone 13 in the middle of the night, and drove to Bassey’s house in Ikeja. He also fraudulently transferred N75,000.000 from his boss’ account.

Lagos State police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed this in a statement, yesterday, said the suspect had perfected plans to use the proceeds of the sales of the car and other valuables to process his travelling out of the country.

Hundeyin said the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi,  has directed that the case be transferred to the State’s Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti for further investigation and prosecution.
