Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its gubernatorial candidate, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, have condemned the alleged harassment and intimidation of residents and traders in Alaba Market in the process of exercising their civic responsibilities.

Adediran, in a statement by his spokesman, Gbenga Ogunleye, charged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to take proactive measures in forestalling rising incidences of glitch in the exercise.

Also, the PDP in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Hakeem Amode, decried the harassment, saying it is an attempt to prevent Lagosians from exercising their civic rights.

He warned that further attempt to intimidate Lagosians from registering for their PVCs would be met with strict resistance.

The party, which commended youths across the state for showing determination in getting their PVCs and traders that participated in the continuous voters registration exercise, warned sponsored thugs to desist from molesting Lagosians who are fed up with the misrule.
