21-year-old Usman Hussani and 25-year-old Ebuka Ukechukwu were arrested following a distress call received from a victim shortly after he was dispossessed of his phone and other valuables.
According to the state’s police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, two mobile phones, two SIM cards, one Sterling Bank ATM card, one UBA cheque booklet, belonging to one Ugochukwu (other names withheld) and one brand new tricycle with registration number LSD 360 QN used by the gang were recovered from them.
Hundeyin said the suspects will be arraigned once investigations are concluded.
He stressed that the State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has advised Lagosians to always remain vigilant, especially when boarding public vehicles.
