Lagos Police to carry autopsy on lovers found dead in SUV
The Lagos State Police Command yesterday said it would carry out an autopsy on two lovers found dead in a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) at Jakande Estate, Isolo, Lagos.
The deceased were alleged to have died while making love in the car parked at the estate. Neighbours had on Monday, May 1, discovered that the duo had died after noticing that the vehicle had been on all through Saturday night, April 30, 2022.
The man identified as Koyejo was said to have picked up his unnamed lover at Isolo, while heading to his family house at Jakande Estate. The information Technology (IT) engineer, who lives with his wife at Surulere, reportedly called his friends to tell them he was around and subsequently bought peppered dry meat (Suya) before parking at Double Star Junction to catch fun inside his vehicle.
Residents said they became curious after discovering that his vehicle, marked EPE 666 GE, had its ignition on from Saturday night to Sunday night and in the same spot.
They said one of the residents decided to put on his torchlight, and discovered it was a known person inside the vehicle, but did not know who the lady. They called Koyejo’s wife, who said she had been unable to reach her husband since Saturday. That his phone was switched off.
The Ejigbo Police Division was contacted and they took them away with the vehicle. Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Superintendent of Police (SP), Benjamin Hundeyin, told The Guardian yesterday that an autopsy test will be carried out to determine the cause of their death. He also pledged to make the result of the autopsy public.
