Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed that the Sunday market, popularly known as Ounjè Eko, operate with a 25% reduction in prices of food items.

Commissioner for Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya, disclosed this in a press briefing on Wednesday.

Olusanya said the content will be sold at prevailing market prices with a 25% discount applied.

She explained that the discount would be based on the prevailing market rate in each location. For instance, if 5 kilos of Garri sell for N5,000 in Ikorodu, the discounted price would be N3,750.

Similarly, she said the same product sells for N4,000 in Lagos Island, the discounted price would be N3,000.

Olusanya noted that she will not give a general price as it is the prevailing market rate with the discount applied.
