Plateau State government has expressed dismay over the lackadaisical attitude of its commissioners, for failing to honour important public functions, to which they were duly invited.

Governor Simon Lalong expressed this at the weekend, during a one-day Joint State Revenue Committee, with the theme: “Collaboration, Synergy and Compliance Parameters: Optimising Internally Generated Revenue Collection In Plateau State For Effective Service Delivery and Development.”

Represented by his Deputy, Prof. Sonni Tyoden, Lalong noted that the seats the commissioners were supposed to occupy were empty and decided to take the roll call of the commissioners who were present.

He said economic misfortune occasioned by the drop in revenue accruing to the nation on monthly basis necessitated the state to think out-of-the-box under the new dispensation. He added that it was because of the reality that emphasis had been placed on revenue generation, collection and application to meet the needs on ground.
