The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has intensified enforcement operations across the state as part of ongoing efforts to promote proper parking culture, improve traffic flow, and ensure safer and more accessible roads for all users.

The General Manager of LASPA, Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, said the Authority recently carried out a targeted enforcement exercise along Akintoye Road near Ajeromi General Hospital in Apapa to curb persistent cases of illegal parking.

 

She explained that the operation focused on vehicles parked in designated “No Parking” zones following sustained public sensitisation campaigns and the installation of traffic and parking signages along the corridor to guide motorists.

 

According to Mrs. Adelabu, the enforcement exercise was conducted peacefully and professionally in line with established procedures, with vehicles found violating the state’s parking regulations towed where necessary.

 

She also disclosed that one of the Authority’s “No Parking” signs installed along the corridor had gone missing, condemning the theft and vandalisation of public infrastructure. She warned that anyone caught engaging in such acts would face prosecution in accordance with the law.

 

The General Manager urged motorists to comply with parking regulations, obey traffic signs, use only designated parking facilities, and cooperate with LASPA enforcement officers to ensure orderly traffic management across Lagos State.
