Lawmakers fete Kogi security agents, constituents
The senator, representing Kogi West, Sunday Karimi, has feted the military formations in Yagba West Local Council of Kogi State.
He recently donated a 200-bed Forward Military Base to enhance security in and around Kogi West and neighbouring states.
Towards ensuring their comfort during the festive season, the lawmaker provided cows and several bags of rice to support the soldiers, policemen and other security personnel in the area.
The gesture was extended to the 12th Army Brigade, naval brigade, Nigeria Police headquarters and Mobile Police, all in Lokoja.
Aside from providing the eatables, Karimi equally engaged caterers to cook for the troops serving at the Egbe Forward Operational Base for four days.
In his remarks, the senator described President Bola Tinubu’s administration as committed to ensuring the security of lives and property in the country, adding that citizens should collectively join hands in making the society safer.
He also lauded Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo for prioritising security in Kogi State.
ALSO, the House of Representatives member for Yagba Federal Constituency, Leke Abejide, has admonished his constituents to accept his developmental efforts as their expectations from President Bola Tinubu.
He spoke during the flag-off of the N100 million Leke Abejide Foundation (LAF) Cooperative, Thrift Credit Union loan disbursement and distribution of food items in his hometown, Alu, in Yagba East Local Council of Kogi State.
During the distribution of the non-interest loan, women and the various women cooperative societies spread across the three councils of Yagba Federal Constituency, namely Mopamuro, Yagba East and Yagba West local councils, received N25 million, N45 million and N30 million.
Abejide said while his target was to ensure good governance and development for the benefit of the people, he also made it a duty to extend his gesture to Kabba Bunu-Ijumu and Lokoja/Kotonkarfe Federal Constituencies.
He, however, said his effort to the two other constituencies outside his catchment was not for the purpose of elections, but to better humanity.
