
The farm, which currently employs 635 workers and 35 students on industrial training is a project the foundation began in 2006 to give students opportunity to be exposed to modern commercial farming.
Chairman of the foundation, Alhaji Ahmed Mantey, said the farm and establishment of the institute will provide job opportunities for the students who benefit from the training programs offered and also assist in development of commercial farming in the state and entire country.
In his remarks, Governor Godwin Obaseki, commended Leventis Foundation for its plan to boost agricultural development, rural employment and national food security through local processing of raw materials in Edo. He planted the first tree to mark a formal expansion of the institute and assured the foundation of its support towards the project.
