Lulu-Briggs Foundation marks 20th anniversary
The O. B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation, a leading humanitarian organisation, has clocked 20 years in charity. The Foundation was founded in 2001 by Dr. Mrs. Seinye O. B. Lulu-Briggs, to institutionalise the legendary philanthropy of her husband, the Late High Chief Dr. O. B. Lulu-Briggs.
Spokesperson to Dr. Seinye Lulu-Briggs, Mr. Oraye St. Franklyn, said the foundation has in the last two decades, in alignment with global goals of the United Nations, left indelible imprints in the lives of many Nigerians, especially in Niger Delta communities.
“With a mission to implement sustainable interventions that enhance the quality of life for under-served persons, the O. B. Lulu-Briggs Foundation continues to offer hope, succour and support to at-risk and vulnerable persons. It achieves its mission through five distinct programmes, which include the eldercare programme.”
St. Franklyn explained that the 20th-anniversary celebration would be marked by a series of year-long events that begin with a thanksgiving service on September 21, 2021, at the Chapel of God Int’l worship centre in Port Harcourt.
“A one-day free eye clinic will hold on Thursday, September 23, 2021, for members of the public. Other events lined up for the celebrations are a Law Clinic scheduled for November 24, 2021.
“The event would also signpost the direction of the foundation for the next twenty years especially in the face of new and emerging global humanitarian challenges,” he said.
