Pertinence Group has marked its 14th anniversary with a renewed focus on wealth creation, entrepreneurship and human development, saying its impact over the years has extended beyond its commercial operations to transforming the lives of individuals and families.
Speaking at the Wealth Summit 2026, organised by the group and themed “The Real Money of Lagos,” Founder of Coscharis Group, Cosmas Maduka, urged Nigerians to take greater responsibility for their personal development and economic outcomes, stressing the importance of focus, resilience and the ability to seize opportunities.
Maduka said success required individuals to stop blaming their circumstances, families or government for their challenges, arguing that a change in mindset was necessary to achieve meaningful progress.
He emphasised the importance of organising one’s thoughts and remaining focused on a defined vision, noting that resilience was demonstrated by the ability to rise repeatedly after setbacks.
According to him, knowledge is one of the most valuable forms of investment, while self-awareness and the ability to recognise and properly manage opportunities are critical to reaching one’s potential.
He urged participants to take action rather than merely wishing for change, stressing that persistence, pressure and a willingness to challenge oneself could help turn personal ambitions into reality.
Maduka also challenged participants to develop a deeper understanding of wealth, noting that money goes beyond cash and has different levels that must be understood and managed.
Also speaking, Business Consultant, Ugochukwu Omeogu, said changing an individual’s mindset could significantly alter life circumstances, while environmental factors could influence the opportunities available to people.
Omeogu identified knowledge, mentorship and strategy as critical components of wealth creation, stressing that acquiring knowledge alone was insufficient without practical application.
He distinguished between hearing and listening, saying effective learning required mental engagement, while taking notes could help individuals retain and properly process information.
The consultant encouraged participants not to be distracted by the achievements of others, but to draw inspiration from them while developing a clear vision and understanding their purpose.
He also highlighted the importance of mentorship in acquiring experiential knowledge, arguing that strategic thinking was necessary to convert knowledge and opportunities into tangible results.
According to him, wealth and success require a combination of knowledge, strategy and mentorship, alongside self-awareness and a clear understanding of personal goals.
The summit formed part of activities marking Pertinence Group’s 14th anniversary, during which the organisation highlighted the impact of its businesses across real estate, finance, technology, agriculture, education and hospitality.
Co-Founder of Pertinence Group, Wisdom Ezekiel, said the organisation’s 14-year journey had been defined not only by business growth but also by the opportunities created for people within its ecosystem.
He said members of its ecosystem had earned commissions running into billions of naira over the years, while more than 200 cars had been given out as rewards. It added that millions of naira in cash prizes and several acres of land had also been awarded to beneficiaries.
He disclosed that hundreds of millions of naira had been committed to supporting businesses, while individuals had benefited from all-expenses-paid trips to destinations including Dubai, Qatar, the United Kingdom and Canada.
Ezekiel said the firm’s impact had extended beyond financial rewards to human capital development, with employees given opportunities to acquire skills, assume greater responsibilities and progress into leadership positions.
“Sometimes, the greatest impact is not what you give someone. It is what you help them build,” the organisation said.
Pertinence said customers, investors and entrepreneurs had also benefited through property ownership, savings, investment and business opportunities, which it said had helped individuals improve their financial prospects.
It noted that sustaining the organisation over 14 years had required continuous adaptation to changing markets, technology, consumer expectations and economic conditions.
“Different stories. Different outcomes. But one common thread: Something became possible,” the organisation said.
It added that its next phase would focus on creating more opportunities, supporting entrepreneurs and developing people, saying the anniversary ultimately represented the individuals and businesses whose trajectories had been influenced by the opportunities created through its ecosystem.
