Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde; Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa; Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), and key national stakeholders, have commended a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Ahmed Raji, for donating a Grade A, 250-capacity Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre to the Oyo State government in Iseyin.
They described the gesture as a major boost to digital education and examination access in the country.
Raji had officially handed over the facility, executed through the Raji Oke-Esa Foundation, to JAMB alongside renovated classrooms and administrative offices at Raji Oke-Esa Memorial Comprehensive High School, Iseyin.
The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, while receiving the facilities, commended Raji as one of Nigeria’s finest legal minds with a rare passion for educational development.
He also described the donation as a strategic intervention that goes beyond philanthropy.
Makinde, who was represented by the state’s Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Segun Olayiwola, said the state government deeply appreciated the intervention, noting that it aligns with Oyo State’s drive to expand access to quality education and strengthen digital infrastructure across schools.
Also speaking, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, representing Oyo North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, described Raji as an embodiment of integrity and community service.
Former Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Adeolu Akande, said the project was timely in bridging digital gaps in the education sector.
Also, former Chairman of Iseyin Local Council, Saheed Yusuf, added that the facility would significantly reduce financial and logistical burdens previously faced by candidates travelling long distances for examinations.
Earlier, Raji announced three academic awards — the Prof. Ishaq Oloyede Award for overall best student, Governor Seyi Makinde Award for best female student and Abdul-Akeem Olayori Award for best behaved student, each guaranteeing free education for recipients.
He reaffirmed his commitment to building a just and developed society through sustained investment in education.
