Makinde, deputy sworn in for second term
Gov announces new CPS, retains CoS, sacks ‘Auxiliary’
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and his deputy, Adebayo Lawal, were sworn-in, yesterday, for another term in office. The governor announced his first appointment by retaining the incumbent Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi.
He, however, dropped the former Chief Press Secretary, Taiwo Adisa and named the Group Business Editor, Tribune Newspapers Ltd., Sulaiman Olanrewaju, as his new spokesman.
In his speech, Makinde said his administration would give attention to rehabilitation of internal roads and complete ongoing road projects in the state during his second term. He added that his government would continue to be bullish in driving investments into the state, adding that more youths will get employment.
In a twist, Makinde immediately after his inauguration ordered the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System (PMS), headed by Mukaila ‘Auxiliary.’
Ogunwuyi, who disclosed this in a statement, said the dissolution was with immediate effect.
The statement reads: “I have the directive of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, to inform you of the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System, with immediate effect from today, May 29, 2023.”
