Makinde promises rural electrification board in Ibarapa zone

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has said that his administration will set up the rural electrification board to address power supply in Ibarapa zone of the state. The governor, while addressing thousands of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at the weekend, at the state campaign flag-off held at Igboora, said the reconstruction of Eruwa-Ibadan Road would begin in two weeks’ time.

The governor, who promised that he would make sure Ibarapa is fully carried along on the rural electrification board, said: “I want those who are in the opposition party to come forward so that I can officially receive them here.

In their separate remarks, PDP leaders in Ibarapa zone, Dr. Olusola Ayandele and Chief Ademola Eniade, appreciated the governor for the infrastructural development and other achievements in Ibarapaland.

They said that the governor had fulfilled his electoral promises to the people of Ibarapaland.

MEANWHILE, a pro-PDP group, PDP-Visionaries, has lauded members of the G-5 governors, otherwise known as Integrity Group, for their support for Makinde during the flag-off of his second term campaign in Ibadan.

The PDP group said that posterity would vindicate them for being at the vanguard of agitation for justice, fairness and equity within the PDP. The Coordinator of the PDP-Visionaries, Qudus Olayide, who gave the commendation, at the weekend, equally expressed appreciation to Governors Nyesom Wike, Samuel Ortom, Okezie Ikpeazu and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for standing by Makinde before, during and after the flag-off.

The group also praised residents of Ibarapa zone for turning out en-masse at the state campaign flag-off, stating that the mass turnout was a proof of Makinde’s popularity.
