Makinde swears in commissioners, SSG, HOS, others in Oyo

Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde on Wednesday swore in 16 new commissioners alongside the new Secretary to the Government of the State, Prof Kudirat Adeyemo.

Makinde also inaugurated the former Acting Head of Service, Olubunmi Oni MNi into the substantive position as Head of Service (HoS), Oyo state.

The governor equally swore in 13 newly promoted Permanent Secretaries of Ministries in the state’s civil service as well as the newly-appointed Accountant General of Oyo State, Mrs Kikelomo Adegoke.

The commissioners who returned to the ministries they served under Makinde’s first term were Mr Akinola Ojo, Finance; Professor Musbau Babatunde, Budget and Economic Planning; Mr Seun Ashamu, Energy and Mineral Resources; Professor Daud Shangodoyin, Public Works and Transport; Mrs Foasat Joke-Sanni, Special Duties.

Others appointed and their ministries are Mr Abiodun Aikomo, Justice; Mrs Toyin Balogun, Women Affairs and Social Inclusion; Mr Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, Environment; Mr Williams Akinfunmilayo, Lands, Housing and Urban Development; Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun, Culture and Tourism; Mr Dotun Oyelade, Information.

The list of commissioners also includes Mr Segun Olayiwola, Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters; Mr Olasunkanmi Olaleye, Agriculture and Rural Development; Mr Demola Ojo, Trade, Investment and Cooperatives; Professor Abdulwaheed Soliu, Education, Science and Technology; Mr Adeniyi Adebisi, Establishment and Training.

Makinde performed the swearing-in at the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s office, state secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan where the oath of allegiance and oath of office were duly administered on the appointees.

He also presented them official documentations to validate their new offices while reiterating his administration’s commitment to provide good governance.

The Oyo state governor added that he would work more in his second term so as to leave behind a stronger legacy.

He urged the SSG, commissioners and the new HoS to consider their appointments as a call to hard work and commitment, urging them not to create any room for laxity.

According to him, the choice of commissioners cut across all federal constituencies in the state to give equal representation in my cabinet.
