A yet-to-be-identified lady has been found dead in Owerri, the capital of Imo State. The lifeless body of the fair-skinned lady was found beneath a bed in a hotel room in Owerri on Sunday, while her male partner, who also checked into the hotel, had fled.

The incident happened at a popular hotel located along the World Bank road. The male partner had allegedly strangled his partner after they had sex.

It was gathered that the two guests had checked into the hotel the previous day (Saturday).

The girl’s body was discovered by one of the hotel attendants who went into the room to clean it. A source at the hotel told newsmen that nobody knew when the suspect fled the hotel.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Imo command, SP Ikeoku Godson Orlando, disclosed to newsmen yesterday that the lady was found naked by a cleaner under the hotel bed without any means of identification.

He said investigations have since commenced to fish out the killer and those responsible for the dastardly act.

Orlando, however, said the force is having difficulty identifying the lady, as the killer, who is also yet to be identified, fled with the deceased belongings, including her clothes and underwear.

This is coming barely two days after a lady, Maureen Ewuru, was found dead in a hotel room in Olu Obasanjo area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State. 23-year-old Maureen, who hailed from Abia State, was found dead on Thursday in the hotel room.

According to the Rivers command PPRO, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, preliminary investigation showed that Maureen must have been strangled by her supposed boyfriend.

Omoni also said the suspect left a trace, which the police are using to trail him, adding that a full investigation has been launched to unravel the circumstances into the killing and arrest of the culprit.
