A 29-years old man, Owolabi Folorunso Adewale, has admitted to killing his 99-year old aunt whom he accused of using her spiritual power to change his Baba Ijebu lottery winning number.

Adewale was arrested on Monday, March 4, 2019, by detectives attached to Ogun State Police Command.

The suspect, according to the police, had admitted before homicide detectives that he matcheted the old woman because he had an inclination that the woman was responsible for most of his spiritual problems.

It was gathered that the suspect, who is a regular player of Baba Ijebu lotto, also alleged that each time he was at the verge of winning, the aged aunty would alter the numbers spiritually.

“Whenever I am sure of winning, the deceased who is my father’s elder sister will use her supernatural power to change the winning number,” Adewale lamented.

Oyeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said that the arrest of the suspect followed a distress call received by the DPO Ago-Iwoye Division CSP Ade Adedoyin that a man has butchered his aunty, one Ebunola Aroboto, to death at Maraisa Lane Igan Road, Ago-Iwoye.

Oyeyemi said that the suspect allegedly chased the deceased round the compound with a matchet before he caught up with her in front of the house.

“The suspect severed the head of the 99-year old lady with the cutlass,” Oyeyemi added.

Oyeyemi said that the body of the deceased has been deposited at Ijebu-Ode general hospital mortuary for a post mortem.

He disclosed that the state police commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, has directed the deputy commissioner of Police State Criminal investigation and intelligence Department DCP Wale Abass to take over the case.
