The Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), Fr. Ejike Mbaka, yesterday, announced the resumption of weekly activities at the Adoration Ministry ground in Enugu.

The Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), Fr. Ejike Mbaka, yesterday, announced the resumption of weekly activities at the Adoration Ministry ground in Enugu.

He stated that about three months after adoration activities were suspended, it will now reopen on Sunday, October 2, 2022, with celebration of mass.

Mbaka, in a statement announcing the re opening, said: “To the glory of God, Adoration Ministry starts on Sunday, October 2, 2022, with 10: 00 a.m. Mass. God bless you as you come joyfully to worship God with us.”

Mbaka had, on June 18, 2022, announced the closure of activities at his ministry “indefinitely,” in the wake of misunderstanding with the leadership of the Church over certain comments on politicians.

Mbaka had criticised the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, for being “too stingy,” adding that he can never win the presidency, because, according to him, a generous old man is better than a “young wicked person.”

After the sermon, the Catholic Diocese of Enugu quickly distanced itself from Mbaka, stating that he did not speak for the Catholic Church and ordered the closure of the ministry. Mbaka later apologised for his actions.
