Media chiefs unveil publication on 2017 Nigeria outlook

A group of senior media executives yesterday unveiled a book, 2017 Nigeria Outlook, to put the country on the front burner of international discourse.

The book’s Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Fola Arogundade and its President, Reginald Uwadiegwu Ibe, who visited the Abuja office of The Guardian, disclosed that patriotism moved them to publish it.

They said: “The oil crash since the mid-2014 crushed the Nigerian economy, while corruption, bad governance, weak institutions, gross mismanagement and serial abuses of office have virtually brought the country to her knees.”

Other veteran journalists involved in the publication, which was packaged by an Abuja-based marketing communications firm, L.D. Communications Limited, are Iheanyi Peter Iwuofo, Gabriel Otaru, Peter Nworji and Tony Ogulana.

The media chiefs stated that there were still no coordinated responses or clear indications of the direction of the government’s economic policy.
