Medical experts mark World Hearing Day

Medical experts from the Department of Ear, Nose, Throat, Head and Neck Surgery (ENT H&N) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), weekend, marked 2023 World Hearing Day with a pledge to provide ear and hearing care for all.

Medical experts from the Department of Ear, Nose, Throat, Head and Neck Surgery (ENT H&N) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), weekend, marked 2023 World Hearing Day with a pledge to provide ear and hearing care for all.

The Day has the theme: “Ear and Hearing Care for all! Let’s Make it a Reality.”

Chief Medical Director, UBTH, Prof. Darlington Obaseki, who acknowledged the contributions of the ENT H&N department, reiterated his support for ear and hearing care.

Other stakeholders, who spoke at the ceremony, highlighted the importance of ear and hearing care.

The ENT H&N team, as part of activities to mark the day, paid a courtesy visit on the Vice Chancellor, University of Benin (UNIBEN), Prof. Lilian Salami, who restated her support to the medical team.

Delivering a lecture on the theme, the Chief Medical Director, Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH), Oghara, Prof. Nekwu Okolugbo, noted that the day was key to re-dedicating special attention to ear and hearing care for all.

The event climaxed with hearing screening and free ear dx treatment, where over 80 patients benefited from the exercise.
