Mercy Eke emerges winner of BBNaija 2019, gets N60m


After 99 days of intense competition in the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality television show Season 4 tagged ‘Pepper Dem’, Mercy Eke has emerged winner.She carted home a total of N60 million, including N30 million cash, N25 million worth of Innoson Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), a trip to Dubai and other prizes.

Eke beat 25 contestants in the winner-takes-all competition that kicked off on Sunday, June 30, 2019 with 21 housemates.The show recorded 22 evictions and one disqualification after Anita Natacha Akide was given a marching order after she became violent and physically attacked 26-year-old Eke (known as Lamborghini).

On Sunday, July 7, 2019, two housemates, Isilomo and Avala, became the first to be evicted from the Big Brother House.On Monday, September 30, 2019, the housemates were reduced to five after the eviction of Diane.Seyi Awolowo became the first to be evicted from the five remaining housemates, followed by Omatshola, then the most emotional of all, Chemeja Frodd Okoye.

When asked what he would be doing after the show, Awolowo said he was going to help Nigerian youths discover their potential.Eke got 41.77 per cent of the votes ahead of Mike who got 19.94 per cent of the 50 million votes recorded in the final week.CEO of DStv, Calvo Mawela, described the season four as the best ever, as the BBNaija House was completed for use and the show was beyond everyone’s expectations.
