Military, ESN clash persists in Imo

A renewed crisis between the military and members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) occurred in Orsu axis of Orlu Zone, yesterday, in Imo State.

Sources say casualties were recorded as a result of the attack. As at the time of filing this report, the extent of casualties could not be ascertained.

The Army Public Relations Officer, 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Lt. Babatunde Zubairu, when contacted, put off the phone after the reporter’s introduction.

But the Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police (SP) Orlando Ikeokwu, told The Guardian that it was the military affair, and not police matter. He said: “You know, this is army’s affair, not police.”
