Military retirees urged to employ entrepreneurship skills in post-service life

The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Abayomi Olonisakin, has advised retirees on training at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) to employ the various instructions and skills they acquired while undergoing training for peaceful and productive economic life as they reintegrate into civil society.
Olonisakin gave the advice at the graduation ceremony of the NAFRC Trainees Course 02/20 Stream. He also urged them to be proactive in their conduct to overcome challenges that come with post-service life, which include but not limited to management of resources, especially retirement benefits, influences from friends and family members, management of both mental and physical health, as well as integrating with the civil society.

“This ceremony symbolises another milestone in your distinguished military career. Your successful completion of this course today is a testament to your determination, commitment and discipline, which are the attributes you all have acquired in the course of your active service to our fatherland. It is our hope that after this stage of your career, our gallant discharging servicemen and women will comfortably enjoy their post-service life and apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired,” he said.
He commended the Commandant of the NAFRC and his team staff/instructors for their relentless efforts at ensuring that the armed forces personnel are exposed to the latest trends in global entrepreneurship and management training.
