The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has handed over multi-billion naira projects to the Bauchi State Government while inspecting other ongoing development projects across the state.
Speaking during the ongoing projects handover and inspection, the Minister of Regional Development, Uba Maigari Ahmadu commended the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to regional development, saying that the central government would continue to initiate more projects tailored to regional development.
The Commission during three-day visit has so far handed over a fire-station and truck to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), three mega schools across the three senatorial districts of the state, renovation of the Tomb of the late Prime Minister, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, construction of Medical Emergency and ophthalmology centre at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH).
The Commission also inspected the ongoing construction of the Government Secondary School along Airport road.
The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed who commissioned the State office of the Commission, according to the Commission has built similar structures in Adamawa, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe states.
While speaking during a visit to the Bauchi Government House, Bala Mohammed commended the Minister for the visit while reaffirming the state’s commitment to continued collaboration with the Federal Government and its agencies to accelerate development and improve citizens’ welfare.
He assured the delegation of the state government’s continued support for NEDC projects, pledging an enabling environment to ensure effective implementation, accountability and maximum benefits for communities across Bauchi State.
